I am about to install google os on this netbook for my parents, they cant get the hang off ubuntu netbook edition.

Is there a way to stop the kernal loading up to ask what os to load? my parent use the netbook mostly and i want it to be "switch on and log in" with no os to select etc.
I want to keep ubuntu because i take the netbook with me when i go karting so i can view my onboard footage there and then. I prefer ubuntu myself but after having a go on a chrome netbook, i think that would be more suited for my parents.

Thanks
Marc

You're probably using GRUB to load the os, in which case you can edit grub.conf to pause before loading whichever os you want, e.g. for 10 seconds:

grub.conf said:
timeout=10

The file is probably located in /boot/grub/

This will also be where you list the various os's you want the pc to be able to boot :)
