Firstly sorry if in the wrong place, should i post in the software section? Anyhow i want to dual boot with my asus P5Q pro turbo MB. On one would be a raptor for general stuff, online banking etc, the other drive; a short stroke 300GB segate would be kind of like a virtual machine but so that i can use the PC's full power; video editing. gaming, trying out software etc.

Firstly how can i ensure they are no conflicts with the two OS's which would both be windows 7? Also how can i ensure that the raptor does not get damaged, infected etc in case the "Segate OS" gets something? I have heard bit locker / true crypt would hinder performance? Even if not when the "Segate OS" is running it could potentially "infect the clean "raptor OS" since its decrypted when I'm using, right? I don't like the idea of unplugging whichever drive since i also have a documents disk i would need when using the "Raptor OS"

Thanks for the help

You could ensure they were separated by hiding the other OS's drive in each OS, so neither of them knew about the other. This'd mean you can't access it to copy a file or whatever though.

Hi how would i go about doing this. And would this method ensure 100% that i wont get a virus on my "raptor OS"? I remember an option when right clicking a drive / properties then selecting disable from the drop down menu but that is not there on mine for some reason

Thanks that helped me realise how pretty simple dual booting is.

Though i would like someone to tell me how to ensure the two OS's were separated by hiding the other OS's drive in each OS?
