Hi

How do I setup dual booting

I have a IDE HDD ( D: )
and a SATA HDD ( C: )

My XP setup is installed on my D:

I wanna install Vista on my C:

YOu may need a boot disk manager but that depends what Mbo you have ,

Install it on the disk drive you require ,,,disconnect the other cable connect up the one you want to install Vista on , insatll Vista and connect up the other HDD.

When you boot up your machine hit either F8 or Escape and see if a boot menu appears ?

Viloa , Vista or XP

With XP already installed, I just connected a new SATA drive, formated and then installed Vista - Vista boot menu was automatically installed (but you must have XP already installed - it doesn't work if you install Vista first and then XP IIRC)

u shouldn't unplug the xp drive because vista needs to see the xp drive so it can make a boot menu...

Yep thats its it, just how i have installed it on my machine :D

yes, boot order is CD first, then HDD.. it comes up with the "do u want to boot from CD option...press any key" so i press a key, and it just goes sstraight into loading XP

Got a usb keyboard, per chance? Sounds like the keyboard isn't working during the boot process.
