dual booting

hi ive got 1 80g sata hdd and a copy windows xp (allready installed) and i want to know how to dual boot so i can put a copy of knoppix Linux on to it

any help would be apreciated (sp)

ive never dual booted before

The Knoppix installer should guide you through most of this. First install Windows then partition the hard disk for some space onto which you can install Knoppix. Boot the LiveCD and run the installer. From there you'll format your new partition, set up the bootloader, etc. If you have any questions there's always help on OcUK's Linux forum.
