'Dual' Booting

From my understanding VMWare allows you to run Linux and XP on the same desktop.

Is there any free program that will allow me to use 2 OS's and how I would go about doing this??

VMWare is free

Microsoft's version, Virtual PC, is also free, but not as good as VMWare in my experience. Otherwise VirtualBox is also free, but I've never tried that.
