Hi,

Ive downloaded windows 7 and ive already got windows xp installed. The partition that im planning on installing windows 7 has got all the programs/applications that use in windows xp. During the installation it said that it would move all the files on that partition to a folder called 'windows.old'. If it does this would i still be able to use my programs when i boot up in xp (since i presume all of the directories will have changed) without having to reinstall or re-locate all the .exe's

also if i decide that i want to remove windows 7 how would i go about doing it? is it just a case of loading up xp and deleting the windows folder on the partition that i installed windows 7 on?

The best way forward would be to create a new, clean partition and install Win 7 on that. Moving your programs will require most of them to be re-installed.

If you then dont like Win 7, you can boot into Xp, format the Win 7 partition, then either leave it as is or merge it back to its original state.

:)
