Suppose I want to try out the Core I7 and already have 2 sticks of normal DDR3. Would those sticks work on the X58 motherboard, or would I have to buy a specifically designed triple channel DDR3 kit?
Maybe they actually want to sell some. What's happening to ddr3 prices all of a sudden?!

Seriously though, the high end DDR3 is still really pricey, but you can find £30 3GB DDR3 triple channel kits now at OcUK, so i7 isn't quite as harmful to the wallet.
