Dual Channel Kits?

Hi All,

Quick question have a Dell 630m laptop and wish to upgrade the ram to 1GB however the DC kits cost a far bit and its much cheaper to buy 2 single sticks.

If I buy both at the same time are these likely to work in dual channel mode (same size of course) or is their something special about the kits.

Any thoughts?

The kits are tested to work at exactly the same timings and are usually taken from the same production batch. If you can, I would buy a kit. It shouldn't be possible to buy two individual sticks separately for less than the price of the kit, otherwise why would anyone buy the kit?
