dual channel problems

so i'm at my wits end atm, i have the stuff in my sig but my mem just doesn't want to work in dual channel without failing orthos anymore.

it dont matter what speeds/timings i use it just gives me errors within minutes.

i'm now testing one stick at a time overnight but tbh i ran a few tests earlier and they seem rock solid when only 1 stick is in at a time and come morning i will know for sure as it will either still be running or it wont.

when i put them in together they used to run stable at 250mhz @ 3-3-3-8 and that was more or less the max they would run at, while testing each stick on thier own earlier i managed to get them to run at 280mhz at the same timings.

i noticed something was wrong last night as i was using dividers to get my cpu speed up a bit but keeping the mem at 250mhz which i know they ran fine at but i couldn't get it to run stable, so i messed about and even when running them at stock speeds with dividers they still wouldn't pass the orthos mem tests.
so i decide to put everything back to stock and suprise suprise they still gave errors even with slack timings,

so i got on to ocz support and they say it could be the mobo thats dying and that he doesn't really want to RMA my ram as its not made anymore and the replacement i would get would be nowhere near as good as my ram.

so i got thinking, could it really be the ram that wont work in dual channel even tho its a matched kit and each stick will do 280mhz perfectly when only 1 stick is in the mobo at a time? or could it be the cpu as the mem controller is on that or could he be right about the mobo dying?

i'm guessing it could be the mobo as i have had it approx 2 years and its been ran overclocked since i had it.

what do you guys think? i'm taking my ram to my brothers house tomorrow to test it in his old nf7-s and see if it works ok in that but ocz support say thats a bad test bed as it has issues with 2x512mb sticks which i find hard to believe as i had 2x512mb corsair xms3200 in mine when i had it and i got 2.7ghz out of my old 2800xp

even then if it does run ok i'm still left with the problem of figuring out if its the mobo or cpu's mem controller :(
