Dual channel questions

Well i've been running my rig for a few months now and today i'm contemplating a memory upgrade.

At the moment i've got 1gb of ocz gold 800mhz and the two sticks were placed next to each other on my P5B. I only today noticed that in order for dual channel to work they have to be in the same colour slots *doh*

What i'm wondering is if i buy another 1gb kit that isnt the same as what i've currently got, will it all still run in dual channel, and are the effects on stability proven or just in theory?

It will run dual channel if you put each kit in the same colour sockets. Try to get another kit with similar specifications in terms of speed, timings and voltage.
