does dual channel really make a difference?

i ask this cos i am not running dual channel atm, and i thought my board was a bit buggy... now i've found out i can actually run dual channel, and just need to let the pc boot like 5-6 times. So should i do it? will i see any difference anywhere? Games? 3dmark? OS responsiveness?

also, i'm on an OC, but my ram settings are at stock (BIOS Defaults).

it's one set of these chips.

Yes it will make a difference. It basically means that your RAM will be running at double the speed it is now.

What do you mean by letting it boot 5-6 times? Dual channel should be enabled by the slots the RAM is put in to.

board's bios apparently checks for best mem settings before allowing them and then POSTing

it's a wierd board, tbh... very... quirky. I would have gone with the DS3L or IP35 Pro or something if i had known better at the time.

Very strange! It does seem like the motherboard is doing something wrong.

If your mobo is set to stock and the RAM is in the correct slots it should default to dual channel mode.

No such thing as dual channel ram.
Matched pairs yes, dual channel ram, no.
Only dual channel thing about it is when you put the ram in the right pair of slots to enable dual channel.
Also"dual channel"does not mean the ram runs at double the speed of"single channel"
