Dual channel ram

I currently have 4gb ocz ram running in dual channel 2gb +2gb, now i have a spare 1gb module if i put that in will it make it faster or slower?

4gb is more than enough for the general use anyway - so you're not missing out.

Stick it in a draw and forget about it and then marvel at the incongruity of a 1GB memory modules when you find it again in 10 years time.
