Dual channel

I have 2x256MB of PC2700 RAM (pathetic I know but humour me) currently running in dual channel mode.

I have now been given another chip of 512MB PC2700. If I plonk the 512MB in with the other two 256 chips...

1) Am I right in saying that this will no longer be running in dual channel mode?

2) Which is faster: 512MB in dual channel or 1Gb in normal mode?

3) If I had 2x512 chips in dual channel mode would it be that much noticeably faster than 2 x 256 + 1 x 512??

3) I dont think so. TBH, Dual Channel (IIRC) is worth 2-3% FPS??

Erm you should be able to get dual-channel by adding the 512mb stick to the single slot channel. Dual-channel will run fine as long as the 2 channels have the same quantity of ram.
