Dual Channel

I have an oldish DDR1 system with some nice gskill pc4400 ram in it.

Can I throw in 2x Elixir PC2-4200 512Mb without crippling the gskill sticks?

I have a DFI NF4 motherboard, and the gskill sticks are dual channeled at the moment. Will putting two more sticks in kill dual channel?


Yes it sucks trying to buy fast ddr1 now!

It'll run in dual interleaved mode. It'll be fine.

If 4 slots no it will be Dual Channel still (2+2).

Your ram FSB may need to be reduced to 166Mhz and you will in all probability loose the ability to run at 1t.

Ohh I forgot about that and thought it was fixed, lol.

2 Choices, Run at 333mhz DDR FSB or Memory at 2T (dont think you need do both).

if thats ddr2 ram - which it sounds like, you cant use it with your existing mobo/cpu!
