right...yes, too complicated for the subject line so I tried to sum it up and I think I failed!!
I've got a iPhone 3G contract with O2 that runs out at the end of May. But the phone is just running so badly now its ridiculous, apps crashing out, pausing for like 20sescs when in the middle of things, sudden restarts, texts taking several mins to send...or not sending at all until I manually restart and a new one for this week is app updates downloading and then the icon sitting there saying "installing..." for hours on end
so anyway, I was thinking of jumping off the iPhone ship and moving to the Desire HD (that mahoosive WP7 phone is tempting tho)
But I wanted to get one now but keep my current number. So could I...
-Get 2nd contract
-Put old sim from Iphone in new phone - would I need to change anything to make it work? (I'm pretty sure my tariff was called "iPhone <something>")
-Wait until old contract runs out and transfer my number to the new contract
-let old contract be ended and carry on using new contract with old number
It would be even better if this was all possible by staying with O2, I have a friend who doesnt really have the money to top up her O2 phone and she apparently can text me for free on her PAYG tariff
Cheers
