Dual core and Windows Task Manager

quick question

i thought you got 2 CPU useage charts in task manager with a dual core system ?

click the performance tab

select view > CPU History then change the option to 2 graphs from 1

Yes you are supposed to, did you recently update your system with a dual core cpu?

i've just finished installing my Core 2 Duo e6600

upgraded from a Winchester A64 3200+ so im new to this dual core stuff

Oh the task manager should have worked then, it's just that when you replace a single core with a dual core in the same socket , a BIOS upgrade is usually needed. You got a totally different socket though so won't really apply.
