Hi,

I've just installed my new DFI Ultra-D and HIS X1900XT but my dual core CPU doesn't appear to have been recognised as a dual core. CPU-Z and task manager don't display both cores either. I've tried a couple of the DFI BIOS with no luck, is there something obvious that I'm missing - can't see anything in the BIOS itself

Help please?

tried all stuff from amd website. all drivers and bios are latest. amd cpuinfo software only sees 1 core - have i blown a core? 3d mark, task manager, cpu-z (latest) all see only 1 core. Only device manager / hardware / processor sees both cores.

Not sure why this is, all sortware is the latest and iv tried all of the hotfixes and drivers from amd - help?

yep done all that - no good. amdinfo only shows 1 core. cpu was fine in the MSI board I changed yesterday. The only way I can prove it is ok is to build up my old pc with the other mobo which worked fine

just thought what it might be, installed windows afresh after build BEFORE I updated the BIOS. It would not finish the windows installation until I had updated the bios so I flashed the bios, booted and then it completed - that must be it.

Will install windows afresh tonight and hope for the best - dyu think that is the problem?

no, after setup copied the files and it automatically reboots the machine it would not fire up to complete the installation until I had flashed the bios - I didn't manually stop it. Once it rebooted after the bios update the setup continued automaically.

Will try installing again later.

Does the BIOS detect two cores?

I couldn't find anywhere in the bios that gave the usual system information or something similar. On the MSI Neo2 it was under system information and it told you what cpu and memory was detected - dyu know where I can find this in the bios?

Cheers.
