installed an fx60 in my PC, had a fx57 before, ran 3dmark 06 and got less than my single core score, dont think im using both cores, as i cannot acess them on cpu-z and taskmanager, is there something i need to do, to activate them, it isnt a fresh install, just a swap, also on a asus a8r-mvp if it helps, only got 1012 cpu score on 06 which is about the same as a single core.

Turbo, did you do a Windows re-install, or just switch the CPUs?

You may need to do a reinstall for it to work properly... see this link:

That's Jemz defending her screenshots which show the FX60 speed, but has the 2nd core option greyed out because Windows has detected only the first core.

I think Windows has to configure itself from the outset to utilise both cores.

installed the amd dual core driver?
I don't think you have to do this? I haven't installed any driver yet, Windows just did a little plug-n-play thing after first boot when I installed the dual-core.
