dual core - how to assign core to tasks ?

need a little help here please guys .. been stuck with single core goodness for far to long and just upgraded to a nice dual core system.

i remember reading various times that you can assign a single core to do certain tasks as sometimes that programme runs better.

how do you do that ?

ive reinstalled the old game enemy territory and want to make sure one core is doing the job

any help would be appreciated
 
lol ok fair enough... got to say , nice performance boost from my old system ( in sig ) to a dual core 545 with 4 gig of ram. and being able to finally get a blu ray player is a nice little side by-product.. although it is a media centre build lol
 
lol and you can tell i havnt delved under the hood in ages .....where the hells tasks manager ? i can find device manager ....lol
