Hi, I am looking to buy the intel 3.8ghz, 800fsb, dual core proccessor, and was wondering, what are the benifits of dual core? and does it mean that you have 3.8ghz x 2 clock speed ? , also any dis-advantages and advantages would be great , and maybe a reccommended motherboard - thanks

The benefits of dual core are mainly that you can run two cpu intensive tasks at the same time, without penalty.

Intel haven't yet released a 3.8 Ghz 800FSB dual core so I am unsure which processor you mean.

Disadvantages with dual core are the extra cost and power consumption.

I wouldn't reccommend buying any Intel dual core processor at the moment due the the new architecture that is due out in the summer.
