I've been hunting for a new laptop and I'm puzzled whether to go for a dual core laptop and stick to Intel 900/950 integrated graphics or a single core laptop with say an ATI X300 card in it.

I'd like to think I could play an odd game now and again. Should I ditch the dual core and concentrate on getting a single core with a much better graphics card as there's not much point having this nice dual core laptop but its crap for games?

I've a budget of £700 or so hence why I'm stuck to not getting dual core and a decent graphics card in one.

Is a 17inch screen just a brute or is the size worth looking into even though it will weigh a tonne?

for £700 you should go single core and find one with a better graphics :). Dual core you'll be stuck choosing a decent enough graphics card for that budget.

I've pondered that question for ages. Now the hard part now is finding a single core with decent graphics or I'm I now restricted to an X300 or is that good enough?

A comparison chart of mobile graphics would be good to judge them.
