Sorry I'm sure this has been asked before... Do I need to do anything to Windows (XP) to take advantage of my AMD X2 where appropriate i.e. patches etc?

Well people will tell you install the AMD drivers but all they do is scale the speed of your processor depending on what it's doing. I wouldn't install that as people have mentioned it can hurt your processors perform. I guess performance is a trade-off for lower power usage and lower temperatures.
