Dual core question

I use Trillian for my instant messenging but when it goes offline or loads up, it takes 100% CPU.

If I got a dual core processor, would this mean it only takes up 100% of one of these processors and therefore, it would be 100% on CPU core 1 and 0% on CPU core 2, so I could continue working without interruption?

Also, is there a task manager that can show both CPU percentages?

Thanks,

Jon
