Hi, I recently downloaded Speedfan to check up on my temperatures, as the fans where starting to get a bit noisy, so I suspected some probable overheating. My CPU is an [email protected]. My CPU temp. was around 40 idle and then 50-65 at load, adn the core 0 + 1 temps were usually around 50. So I decided my PC needed a clean, so I cleaned the CPU fan this morning and I noticed a great change in my CPU temp, it usually drops down to 30-40 idle and goes to about 50 at load. But the core temps 0 + 1 alwyas seem to remain around 50-51. Is this normal?

Welcome to the forums. Given the overclock i would say that sounds right. What HSF are you using?

Try this for a second opinion.

Hi, and thanks for the welcome :D

The thing is though the CPU isn't overclocked, 3.16ghz is stock for an E8500. I'm using a Intel LGA775 Certified CPU Fan & Heatsink. I think its just a standard one that came with my PC when I bought it

That is a bit high.

Check your CPU VCore in the motherboards Bios .

Probably it is supplying too much voltage to your CPU
