Are there any needed for intel or just amd?

Just AMD. Intel are fine

Other than running windows update, is there anything I can tweat, or is it all fine by default?

If you are on intel dont install this patch I did and got a load of issues with general stability had to uninstall it.

Instead of that, google Autopatcher and download that. So much easier than running windows update. It contains all the patches ever released and adds a few more things that people often want in one package.

No other tweaks for DualCore though, to check that both cores are working, open up task manager to see if theres 2 graphs in the performance tab.
