Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can see any potential problems i will encounter if i was to install Windows 2003 with only one processor then at a later date add the 2nd CPU?

Or should I just wait until the 2nd CPU arrives before installing the OS?

Cheers

Suggest you install the second CPU before the OS. Just to negate any potential problems that may occur.

Thats what I was thinking myself.

I just needed someone to back my thoughts up.

Can anyone else advice?

I had a dual opty board a while ago and I installed the CPU and RAM in one set of sockets and then added a CPU and RAM later on and it worked fine, no need to reinstall OS(xp64)

I hot swap ram while servers are on here... server 2003 is particulary good at hardware management and there will be no problems with adding hardware after configuration.
