Is it possible to make my TV display my desktop at a different res to my monitor?

Cant seem to get it to do this. TV res 1024x768 and monitor res is 1680x1050 both @ 60hz.

I can extend my desktop which I dont want to do and clone it, but cloning changes the res of my monitor to the same as the TV.

Using an ATI 3870 with Catalyst 8.7 drivers.

Any help appreciated.

Cloning does just that, clones the display so they both have to be the same res, otherwise they wouldn't be showing the same picture. It'll display at the highest shared res AFAIK (which is the res of the TV in your case).

Kinda already knew that bud but thanks anyway, just needed to know if I can do it but with the 2 displays at different resolutions.
