Dual Display with Nvidia drivers

I've currently got a 8800gts card and at somepoint i managed to have my 22" lcd and 42" lcd setup in dual screen. This was with seperate resolutions on each screen 1680x1050 and 1920x1080, with my mouse allowed to transfer from one screen to the next.

This was done by choosing the 5th option in nvidia control panel under set up multiple displays. However now there's only 4 options in that section so i can no longer have it set up this way?????

i believed it was the 162.15 drivers which allowed me to do it but doesn't work on that or the 162.18's for xp. Can someone tell me which version i need to get this option back???

Windows itself can do that:

Right click desktop, properties, most right tab you should see 2 ''monitor'' icons, select the 2nd one and select ''expand desktop to this monitor'', should work fine like that :) ,

I have a similar problem Morton.

To the above poster that works but it seems to only send across as the same resolution as my monitor :(

I have tried the Nvidia wizard but cannot get my 42" PX70 plasma to run at 1360 x 768 and my monitor to run at 1280 x 1024 whilst both on at the same time.

Ehh, you can select one of the 2 monitors there and set the resolution for each, iirc mine worked fine in a 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 combo.

93.31 and 94.21 (i think), have the classic nvidia panel, wich has easier options to settings resolutions per monitor etc... Try them.

EDIT: WOOPS massive mistake, I read 7800 not 8800, above drivers are kind of useless...

are you gonna loose a lot of performance especially with the newer 8800 sries cards going to those older drivers??????

I have managed it with the newer ones but the option has now gone, and no metter which set i use it just doesn't want to work.

How is your 42" LCD connected ? you maybe be limited in your options as to what you can do if your card is treating the larger LCD as a TV/HDTV rather than a monitor like your 22" monitor.

Sorry didnt see 8800, ehh try this on your current drivers:

In "HKLM\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies" add DWORD key named "SedonaDisable" and set its value to 2.

Also make sure these values are set this way, if they aren't there make em and change em if needed:

"SedonaDisable"=dword:00000002
"ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000002
"DevPolicies"=dword:00000000
"ModePolicies"=dword:00000000

( spotted this in the 158.27 thread at Guru3D, so should work with newer stuff too )

Should get classic nvidia panel and menu's back, from classic menu you can change the reso's...

well after having a play I know have it up and running using the 162.18 drivers.

ended up needing a complete removal of both nvidia drivers and ntune. Then after the restart insalled the 162.18, and on reboot nvidia multiscreen setup launched and had the dual screen option I needed.

Now to get BF2142 to work on the LCD like all my other games do.
