Ive got a new gfx card, an ATI 4870. Ive rigged up my PC TFT and using the secondary DVI port on the gfx card, linked it to my LCD TV which is bigger. For when Im playing 'console' like games I can sit on the sofa instead of at the desk with the PC.

The LCD TV's max resolution is 1368 x 768 and my PC TFT's max is 1680 x 1050. When I connect the TV to the DVI port it trys to sync with the gfx card and goes into 1080i mode, it does display a picture but its not quite accurate. Its not very sharp and the picture dosent quite fit in the screen properly. Its an older type LCD so it cant do proper HD at 1080p. There is no way of selecting different resolutions through the TV, is there any way of 'forcing' a resolution to the TV from the gfx card?

One other thing also, when two screens are connected to the gfx card, does this lower its performance in running games smoothly?

Cheers, M.

I can get the picture to display on the LCD TV but I can only see the Windows background image when in 'extended mode', it dosent show anything else, eg, the mouse cursor, windows boxes etc. When I load up a game it only shows the game on the PC TFT. What am I missing, is it some kind of anti-dual display thing where Windows dosent let you have the same image on two displays or something???

You select the display for the game from within the game I think just tried sega rally and the option is on the launcher as below:

#0 is my monitor & #1 is my plasma

Not sure on other games though

Hi guys, Im trying to seach for a dual screen related thread and this came up.
So I was wondering if you could kindly answer my Q before I make a new thread.

Q: How do I switch my dual screen (second screen) from LEFT to RIGHT?
I want the second screen on the right side, not left.
Can it be done?
Its Vista OS on a laptop btw.
Many thanks
Bon

HI,
Go to your video settings you should see a pic of 2 screen marked one and two
mouse over one of them and grab it drag it to which ever side you want.

You can also adjust the height positions of the screens as well

Oh excrement thats for XP , ......... dunno about vista , ( dunno if the movie companies allow adjustment of screen positions )

Hi there,

I have a Samsung r700 laptop connected to a Panasonic Plasma 50"
When I change the resolutions to max, 1080 I think, the text on the 50" is not clear. Why? It should be crisp, correct?
I must be missing something out.
Its connected via HDMI btw
