since i have 3870xt in crossfire for week now it gives me headache first it 3 days it was crashing till i removed 1 crossfire bridge in some games it makes some strange visual effects for example in cs:s screen shakes after flash grenade.

So i thought i fixed it worked fine with crysis and quake 4, but today 7pm i had important match in cs:s and i crashed 2 times till i disabled crossfire in end result we lost 13: 17 as i missed 3 rounds.

Does anyone else has some problems with dual gpu or it is just me and my bad luck? :(

i have 3 gpu two 3870xt and 1 8800gts g92 in other rig should i just sell one 3870xt and put 8800gts back in and in other rig leave one 3870xt?

i might give it one more day but i'm not sure :(

Yes, Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W ordered...the 1000W would've been overkill, but there wasn't much difference in pricing between the two so it made sense to me to over-overkill. Should be pretty efficient at such under-utilisation anyway.

I've read a couple of reviews which show a X2+XT drawing about 530W peak (IIRC), with the other configuration power draw figures and a bit of algebra it looks like the XT draws about 62W and the X2 about 153W.

Will be nice to see results i got a x2 and would not mind putting a single 3870 in my rig also. And like you would mean a new psu so if its not worth the trouble i wont .

Major overkill on the PSU there! lol

850W would have been more than enough.

Yep! I'm a sucker for headroom, energy efficiency (says the guy who is going to run 2 X2s) and big fans. I'm building the girlfriend a quiet build with an ATX PSU, and I'd rather she under-used my Corsair 620W than buy her a Corsair 450W and sell the 620W for a similar price to the 450W, which keys in nicely for me upgrading. Likewise, an XT costs more than half as much as an X2. I'm sure it's a bad time to buy a graphics card right now, it's just that my justification skills are considerable :p

Selling my two 3870s...can't be arsed with em anymore. Gone back to Nvidia...they've always worked fine for me.
