Dual GPU question!

Forgive me for my stupidity.

I currently have a 1GB GPU. When my 3GB card is installed will i have a total of 4GB?

If they do stack, will the new card's memory frequency adjust to that of the other's? (like system RAM)

Given that one is 3 GB and one is 1Gb, they wouldn't work together in any meaningful way (SLI/Crossfire).

There probably isn't any reason to keep the 1GB card in there.

Moreover, if you had two cards with equal VRAM, this memory wouldn't sum up which is important for many VRAM-sensitive games .

speed defaults to the slowest cards base speed and vram needs to be the same on each card but will only use the total vram divided by 2 so 2 2gb cards= total useable 2gb, 2 4gb cards= useable 4gb

Perhaps means 1.5GB and 3GB in which case a GTX580?
