Dual graphics card query

Hi There,

I currently have an ATI-4850 which i use for HD-DVD/Blu-ray playback when not playing games, however the fan noise can be too loud as it constantly whirs up when it gets to a certain temperature.

i've recently seen a 2400XT in purple shirts which also has hardware assisted encoding and is also passive.

Is it possible to install both and then switch between them when i want to play games/watch a film? the motherboard is a P5Q-E.

Why don't you just fit an aftermarket cooler to the 4850?

Well i did look into the Vortexx Neo when i bought the card but at the time it was split between that and another cooler so intended to wait till there was better available.

Are there any better/quieter coolers out now for these cards?

The 2400XT is only a tenner mind and at the moment this seems the easier/cheaper option for now, can also chuck it in a media centre when i get round to building one.
