Hi i'm thinking of getting a cheap Nvidia card to go along side my 5870 for Physx
and hopefully to cure this problem. Now my question if i used my 5870 for my primary display and connected my secondary display to the Nvidia card and ran Windows Media Center to watch T.V the Nvidia card would be the one doing the video decoding/rendering right?

EDIT: Just added my GTX280 along side my 5870 for testing and the Nvidia card does the encoding/rendering for media center if it's displaying on the secondary screen if you drag it across onto the primary display that the ATI is controlling then the ATI takes over the decoding/rendering duties.... sweet, now just gotta find a cheap small graphics card to buy to use to power the secondary monitor.

I managed to snag a 9800GTX+ for £35 so there are some great bargains to be had if you look around.

They do work, it's a common setup for people to have a big ATI card then a lower powered nVidia card for physx.

You need a specific set of Nvidia's beta drivers, as Physx is locked out when paired with ATI cards. Nvidia made a whoopsy and released a beta driver without the lock implemented, eveyrone started using it, and it was too late by the time Nvidia realised they'd left it off
