I have an LCD tv which has a single HDMI port which I currently plug my PS3 into.

My graphics card (2600 Pro) has a DVI->HDMI adaptor.

Firstly, what benefit would I see in using the HDMI adaptor over a standard VGA cable? (Currently using a res of 1360x768)

Secondly, can you buy 2 hdmi sockets into one plug adaptot. so I could use my PS3 and PC seperatly but without having to change the lead over all the time.

Thanks

You would notice the difference over an analogue connection vs a digital connection.

I think what you're looking for is a switch box, i had this problem using DVI and managed to get a switch box for that off a well known auction site. The only problem you may have with switch boxes plus HDMI is if it supports sound routing too.

Does this look about right for your needs?

that looks ideal.

I am only wanting to route video through the hdmi cable as I have a coax from the pc and an optical from the ps3 to my surround setup.

Dare I ask how much one of those boxes would be? :)

Does the box auto switch also?

Cheers!

You're looking at between 20-30 quid from the first google search i just did, maybe this is a bit more the scale you're looking for:

The images location may help you find where i'm looking ;)

Edit: Most come with remotes, not ideal but better than my DVI switch box... i have a remote for everything but i still have to get up to push a button to change inputs!

i have bought a cheapo one from a popular auction site for £8, it doesn't have a remote but for the money I will give it a go :)
