i'm thinking of getting a hazro 27 incher (or the dell) but it says you need 'dual link dvi' connection and i'm not sure what that means.

do i need two dvi from my graphics card to plug into the monitor in order to show the larger resolutions?

Hi there,

You just need a single cable which is dual-link (have a look here to see what that means),

If the Hazro doesn't come with one, then this is a dual-link cable which will work fine with that monitor at its native resolution.

As for the Hazro, make sure you have a look at this thread before committing to buy one.

thanks for that. so the actual connector is a bit different, good to know.

i'm asking as i want to get two 27" displays and want to run both from my nvidia graphics card, hence i would only need two dual link cables right? and the one card should be able to run both monitors?

i would not need 2 graphics cards with 4 dvi connections / cables right?

ps, have been following that hazro thread for a while now, not sure what to make of it all really. will wait another 2 months before diving in i think.

Yes, with two of these monitors you will only need two dual link cables connected to one graphics card. Though make sure that your graphics card has two true dual-link connections as some of the recent AMD cards just have one (and one single link one).

Yea, I think quite a few are playing the waiting game too, looking longingly at the U2711 but with hope set on a 27in Hazro without the previous issues. Personally I gave up and bought a 32in 1080p S-IPS LG TV for £219, I'm pretty happy with my decision.

wow, that is a big monitor!

will check up my graphics card, thanks for the solid answer.
this was bugging me for some time.

i think hazro has great potential and i hope they succeed as their 27" offering is great bang for buck. can't stop dreaming of two 27" on a vesa dual stand mount :)
