I've just got an Intel RES2SV240 SAS expander to connect to my LSI 9265-8i. I have the choice of single or dual linking the controller to the expander. Seeing as all the drives connected are NAS-grade (WD REDs, Seagate NAS etc) rather than Enterprise or SAS drives, do I actually need that sort of bandwidth? Is there any benefit to dual linking to one controller?
