Dual monitor Game help please

Hi All,

Just a quickie (i hope). Got a 2nd monitor to play around with today and hooked it up to my X1800XT. Now im quite 'into' my CS:S and thought id use my 20.1" Philips (Primary display) for CS (and other games) and my 17" Philips for chat apps, etc etc. However ive just tried it and CS minimizes when i click on the other monitor, anyone know how to stop this happening?

Im using ultramon if thats going to help any?

As always, any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Most games minimise if you try to do this, about the only solution is run in a window.

Yeah, I hate when video games like to grab the whole screen and not let you use the 2nd monitor to chat while playing games. I hope on Windows Vista they implement a pseudo window for games, i.e. maximize the game to full screen but keep it in a window without borders.

Thanks for the replies, slightly disapointed that theres only the 'play in window' option but its better than nothing.

Anyone any good at switches? After starting up CS:S windowed but its beyond me :/

If you had a window without borders, surely if playing a FPS or something when you moved the mouse outside the limits of the border instead of carrying on turning, it would go to the second monitor? That wouldnt be good now would it? Would be nice if you could pause said game and then utilise the second monitor somehow without the game minimising.

The solution is to get a cheap second pc as web browser/chat system

I have my laptop setup next to my main PC to run Teamspeak, MSN and look on the net while im playing games.
