I'm looking to upgrade my monitor as was looking to get a dual setup on a mount (as I don't have too much desk space depth wise).

I was after 27" monitors and I can manage about £800 for both. I'd obviously like a pair of ROG Swifts but they are out of my price range. Slim bezel monitors if possible :)

If there are some due out soon then I can wait for those but I really don't have much idea about monitors tbh.

Oh yeah uses will be mostly gaming and then movie watching as a 2nd priority. And I've a GTX 680 card in the PC.

Many thanks in advance.

What do you have now?
Are you looking for a matched pair or just a second monitor?
Are you going to run one landscape and one portrait or both portrait? Side-by-side or stacked?
Have you considered a single 34" 21:9 monitor?

Running with a Samsung S23A700 and an LG W2363D atm.
I'd prefer a matched pair as the Samsung doesn't have a vesa mount and the LG has developed a lot of backlight bleed.
Was planning on running them both landscape and side by side.
I've gotten used to 2 screens so not sure I could go back to just one. :)

Would it better to get a matched pair now or get a better monitor now and get another one in 6 months or so with a mount then?

I know exactly what you mean.

A matched pair always looks nice but unless you're going to have three down the line for 3-screen gaming or going to have them either side of another monitor then there's little real point. The reason I asked about the 34" 21:9 monitor is that OCUK have them on special offer right now:

LG Flatron 34UM95-P 34" WideScreen Super-Wide LED Monitor 3440x1440 - £659.99

A single one of those might sort you just as well as two monitors and give you a superior gaming experience. There's a long thread here. If you were to sell your GTX 680, you'd likely have enough money for a GTX 970.

If you really want a ROG Swift, get one, then buy another 1440p monitor when you've saved another £100. The other Acer 27" monitors look to be a close style match for the ROG Swift.

What do people think if I grabbed a ROG swift now for games and got a Dell U2715H in a few months for movie watching and as a 2nd screen whilst playing. Would my GTX 680 run them both for now?

Thanks.
