dual monitor issue

Hi guys

This has only recently started happening.
I have a 27" 4k diplay and a 25" 1080p display.

I load up Horizon zero dawn on the 4k screen the 4k is the main monitor selected in the nvidia control panel but all of a sudden it appears on the 1080p screen.

so i either disable the 1080p screen then no problems or within the 1080p screen i enable windowed mode move it back across and select the correct monitor then that works.

I tried loading Apex on the 4k screen no issues it stayed on that screen.

also when coming out of a game the screen will flash once, an issue i had within apex when i tabbed to the other screen to message in discord which has now been resloved by having windowless mode selected in the in game options.

unsure as to why this is all happening, i have just done a clean driver install same issue with HZD.

Had a similar issue with Doom Eternal. Managed to resolve by using Alt F4 to switch from full screen to window, dragging over to the correct screen and then Alt F4 again to go back to full screen.
 
That game has a setting for the display to use, you should be able to sort that in the game and avoid the other steps.
 
I had this issue with Horizon Zero Dawn specifically. It didn't really care which monitor windows or the display driver software had designated as the primary. Or even what monitor number it was. I wouldn't worry about it too much, as annoying as it is I just kept switching monitor whenever it decided to do it.
