hi all...again i need your help...i have recently bought another monitor the same as my original one...but i cant get them both to work together...question..do i put both monitor leads in one gfx card or one cable in each???? ..when i put but lcables in one card, they both come on together right up until just before the desktop appears then one goes into power save???....i have tried messing about with the settings but maybe not doing properly because still no good...can i have some of your valuable advice please guys :) :) :)

We need a little more information than that to help.
What graphics card have you got?
If you have 2 cards are they SLI/Crossfire or seperate?
What drivers are you using (version number if possible)?

What card are you using ATI/Nvidia.

You will need to extend desktop to the 2nd monitor, and have it enabled.

yes tried that m8 but still no good....but do i have to have both cables in one card or one in each or does that depend on wether they are sli,ed or not???

i take it you have gone into settings through the desktop and extended onto second monitor, under the settings tab?

right click on desktop>properties>settings... then it should show both your monitors, one blanked out and the other not... just click on blank one and tick the extend desktop onto this monitor box...

it'll work if you turn sli off.

yes m8 i have turned my sli off unfortunitely and it works...looks like i cant have the best of both lol...hopefully nvidia will sort it eventually so i can do both in time..thnx for the help guys...oh btw ive downloaded ultramon but dont know how to work it...any info appreciated on this program

If you want a fake taskbar on the secondary monitor, right click the ultramon sys tray icon and click options, then click "smart taskbar" tab and tick the "use smart taskbar" and click okay - it should put a fake taskbar on your secondary monitor. Also something I use all the time is the "move window to next monitor" hotkey, again go in to the options and under "hotkeys" look for "move window to next monitor" (should be at top of list) and click "add hotkey" and set a bind - I use alt + `
