I have a 1440p 60hz 31" Monitor but want to add a 24" 1080p 144hz for just playing FPS

Can this be done? I have a 1080ti GPU

Just plug it in. Some games will allow you to select the monitor but most don't so you'll have to select the 24" as the primary monitor in Windows.

I've not purchased the monitor yet just wanted to see if it would work.

Some games allow you to set the 'default' monitor in the settings, for ones that don't you'd have to make your 24" your default in Windows before firing the game up.

I only play COD Warzone and think they have this option so it might be ok.

I have a combination of a 24" and a 38" superwide and will vary which I use for games. Some games will have options to select which to use and for those that don't I haven't had a problem with controlling the output by switching around which the system views as primary. I don't think you'll have a problem.

My setup works fine:

Main monitor = 34" 3440x1440, 120hz
Second monitor = very old 20" 1600x1200 rotated to portrait, 60hz
GPU: Radeon VII

Games just fire up on the main monitor. Simples.
