Dual Monitor Setup - High Idle Temps

Ok so first of all this is not using the build in my sig this is my 2nd older build.

I have 2 Viewsonic Monitors -VA2213w and a VP171b-2

VA is running at 1920x1080 VP at 1280x1024

Using Extended Desktop and Ultramon Software.

GPU: GTX 275
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 940 3.00ghz

Before the Dual Monitor Setup GPU Idle temps were usually 27-30 degrees
Now when using Dual Monitors I end up with 48-51 degrees idle. This is insane!

I don't understand, you see people with 3 Monitors Running BF3 across all screens etc. I am running oldish games (BF2, Oblivion) on the VA and having Chrome in the VP with crazy temps. My video card drivers are up to date.

Is this normal? Is it because of my oldish GPU? Maybe even due to the monitors not being the same? Looking for some Help here

Yes. Newer graphic cards - GTX200+ do not down clock when more than 1 monitor is plugged in.

Thanks for the Quick Reply, ah well shouldn't be a problem then when playing Oblivion/BF2. Was just shocked at the temps When I loaded up MSI Afterburner.

Your idle temperatures will increase when running dual monitors due to the higher idle clockspeed. Normal
