Hi there,

Is there a free piece of software that can be used to stretch/add the taskbar over the two monitors rather than have it on just one?

The ability to switch which screen a program/file is open in would also be nice.

I have tried UltraMon - but you have to pay for this!

Cheers

Both NV and ATI have a feature in their drivers that will stretch the desktop across two screens, including the taskbar. I wouldn't recommend it tho, nothing wrong with two distinct monitors (aka. Windows built-in dual monitor support) so you can easily maximise windows in a single screen with absolute reliability.

True i'm not denying that; but if you look at programs like ultramon, it gives the other monitor an independant taskbar for the programs open on that screen - i want a program that does that

Ah fair play :) In fact, now you've made me want to try Ultramon out :D

It seems very good, if you don't mind having it for only 30 days, or paying about $30 for it. I just thought there MUST be a good alternative to it out there??
