Dual Monitor setup?

I've got 2 monitors and both of them use vga ports.

So in windows I just put one connector into the motherboard vga slot and the other into the graphics card vga slot. However I tried this and linux doesn't detect the monitor connected to the mother board.

I've tried installing both the amd and intel drivers but it still only uses the monitor connected to the graphics card?

I've had issues using 2 x monitors in my single overclocked amd card. The second monitor suffers from an annoying flicker. This is only when OC'd mind.

hear u

windows? or linux?

we are running older Gen cards than this fella.... albeit mine can handle 3 without a flicker (I'm only running 2 at the mo under windows because I normally have my linux running on the 3rd at the same time from my alt rig)

I had to remove my second monitor because the mouse cursor becomes corrupted but only on the secondary screen. Checked the logs and saw that fglrx had crashed. It's fine with a single screen though. Running Kubuntu 12.10 on a box which started with 11.04 and has been updated biannually since so maybe it is time to reinstall.
