Dual monitor window issue (shifting right in games)

Hi Guys

Swear I fixed this last time I had a dual monitor set up -- but up until last week I only had one 23" for 18 months.

Anyway, when I play a game in the left monitor (full screen), everything in the right monitor shifts to the right, so even if the right monitor has a full screen video playing within it, half the picture will shift to the right, exposing the desktop background (which doesn't move at all, seemingly).

Can't for the life of me remember how I fixed it last time..

Anyone got an idea?

Cheers

You have to play the game in the resolution/aspect ratio of the monitor being used, otherwise that happens.

If there is a way to fix that, I would like to know as well.

if im reading that right ? you play a game on your left monitor and anything open on the right monitor goes to the right hand side of that screen ?....ok well its the same for me also...but sorry no i dont know how to stop/fix that :(

Change the in-game resolution to the same desktop resolution of the monitor, and it should correct it.

Ony my both my monitors, the res is 1280x1024, but I game on the left screen, and if the game res drops to say 1024x768, then it shunts everything on the right screen to the right, until I correct the ingame res on the left, at which point, it is all good again :)

The problem only happens to me if I play a game that doesn't do the same desktop resolution as the main monitor. Older games such as Roller Coaster Tycoon doesn't have any display options so the problem can't be fixed there, but newer games will allow you to change the game resolution to match the native resolution which will solve the problem.
