Dual Monitoring

Hello,

I currently use the 27" AOC Q2770PQU and have been thinking about dual monitoring. Since this is my first PC meaning I have never dual monitored before, is it worth it? and would getting another Q2770PQU be the best for aesthetics or would two 27" be too large?

My GPU has one HDMI output which I use to connect to my current monitor, would I have to use a HDMI cable from the MB to the second monitor?

Thanks.

Dual monitors can be very handy, gaming in full screen windowed mode on one and browser on another for example, but since I got my Q2770PQU I don't have room on my desk for another monitor so if I need a second screen I use my TV which is to the right of my computer.

What do you use to connect your TV? I read up that it's better to connect both monitors using the same connection, e.g HDMI.

However, like I said my GPU only has one HDMI output.

I use DP for the monitor and HDMI for the TV with no problem. Before I got the 27" monitor I had a 22", 24" and TV all running at once connected with 2xDVI and 1xHDMI.

Ah, so I could connect a second monitor using DP? Also, do you know of any good stands which can hold two monitors, up to 27".

I couldn't go back to one monitor. I tolerate it when on my laptop, but only because I have no choice! I generally use my mian 24" monitor for what my focus is, and an old crappy 17" screen for extra info, or youtube/iplayer while I work on the main screen. It's great for research. I can have 3 A4 size PDF's on the 24" and my report/work on the 17".

Once I move out and have a bigger desk, I might even press my old 19" monitor into service, just because I can.
