Dual Monitors issue

Ive just taken reciept of my second BenQ G2420HDBL and im having issues getting the second monitor to display.

Im on windows 7, both monitors are enabled in screen resolution, both work fine on their own.
If I disconnect one monitor cable, the other monitor will work fine. if I disconnect the working one and plug in the non working one, the non working will work,so they're both monitors are fine.

during boot, I get a glimpse of the loading screen on both monitors.

I have an ATI 6900 series graphics card, and everything seems sound in there.

In the windows screen resolution, the monitors are shown as enabled and working. both are on the same refresh rate, display resolution etc.
both monitors are set for Extend to these displays

Ive ran out of ideas! anyone else have any?

Yes, both Monitors DVI.
But I've had two other monitors on DVI also?

Whats the alternative, a pair of HDMI to DVI cables?

I take it you tried swapping the DVI cables/ports over? Or a spare DVI cable? Does the second display stay off in both ports?

Ive just researched your suggestion and appears you are correct.
Dual Link, only 1 DVI monitor at at time.

my local PC world is open till late, I might pop over and collect a HDMI to DVI cable.

Thanks for your help

It still should work if both are on DVI. Both are set to 1920x1080 and 60hz right?

yep.

DVI Output : Yes x 1 (DVI-I),Yes x 1 (DVI-D)

Both ports can send DVI signals. The one with VGA on top is the DVI-I port as it can send both digital and analogue signals.

Does both monitors work when you try clone mode?
