dual monitors (problems)

Hi guys/gals

I have a 3500pro gfx card, using hdmi to my sony bravia tv and dvi cable to my 19inch viewsonic monitor.

I am having loads of problems when switching between the two, for example say I want to watch a tv show in HD, I will make the tv the primary monitor and will disable the 19inch monitor completely.

however when I want to go back to using the 19inch monitor it will not detect any visual signal.

I often have to uninstall the drivers and then re-install them just to get the screen displaying again.

even though I have disconnected the hdmi cable going to the tv when I load up counter-strike it is trying to find the tv which then makes my 19inch monitor go black and lose its signal. Anyway around this?
 
the best way to fix this is..

use VLC when you play songs and select TV as primary for movies.

you wont have to edit any driver settings then and you won't lose signal to your 19".

although when you watching a full screen film/video the secondary monitor always display blank black screen by default.
 
set 19" as primary then set tv as secondary.

set VLC as 2nd screen.

volia always keep 19" as primary = every game uses 19"
 
Have you set it up so that they are configured individually? you shuold be able to move programs from one screen to another (not games though)

Yesterday I made a profile for the 19inch monitor, that would load up counter-strike.

First time I ran it, this worked but when I did this again a little later the monitor would just display black again :*(
