hi guys

currently using UltraMon to span my taskbar accross my dual monitor's but i find it annoying having my systemtray on the first montior

is there any way to move it to the second monitor so it looks like a proper extended desktop etc

Unlock the taskabr and drag it across to the other screen. Worked like that last time i used it.

mmm, that works to get the system tray over, but now my start button and quick launch is on my second monitor and i want them on the first....

The only way is to span it one huge desktop instead of having dualview.

You'll soon get used to it :)

I've used both dualview and span and I much prefer dualview. Especially when you want to maximize any windows etc. You can't dual span in Vista due to WDDM constraints anyway.

If you want the systray and start menu on seperate screens then you're out of luck without spanning.

You'd be looking for a way to strip out the code for the systray in the start menu and place it somewhere else, in this case another taskbar.

Not possible as things stand i don't think....

ahh, kk
guess i will get used to it soon, never getting rid of dual monitors though, couldn't live with-out it now
thanks anyway guys.

I felt the same until i get the 24", pwns the 2 x 19" previously....

Just have to find ways to use a bit of screen management.

I use a few apps for doing just that.

Switcher for switching between windows.

4t tray minimizer for Minimizing a window to the sytray.

Alpha Blender (transparency on any window - adjustable via hotkey)

I assume you either code or have some other use for dual screens. I do like dual screens to, but they do have a few drawbacks also.

are all those little programs not already built into windows vista???

don't do much programming at the moment, but that's about to change soon again (got a project up coming), but i do a bit of web design which also involves a lot of photoshop.
my main reason for dual monitors though, is just the extra workspace. Its just convient being able to have media player on 1 screen and web broswer on the other for example
or in games i can have game on one screen and on the second screen hamachi and system monitoring programs.

looking to replace one of my monitros (i have a 21" and 19" CRT at the moment) with a 22" samsung Aqua, but i can't see me loosing the dual monitor set-up
