Dual monitors with different resolutions

Does this work - can it be done?

Can I keep 1080p on my main monitor and have a second smaller monitor for just web browsing and stuff?

I'm really a novice with that kind of thing so I genuinely have no clue.

The more idiot proof the explanation the better, I'll give this a go tonight

Had an old monitor, 19'' 1440x900 sitting next to me for ages so I might as well get some use out of it. Having a second screen to check forums/guides/etc while gaming would be handy

Mmm doesn't sound too hard.

Any issue if one is hdmi and the other is just dvi/vga?

Had this running over the weekend, working fine lads - just had to plug it in and it worked. should have done this sooner.
